Managing stress at work & home - Using physiology to improve your psychology

As part of our monthly series of 'Connect @ Hartham Park' networking events, you're invited to join us for an enlightening event that will help you to combat many common stresses with your work and home life.

Stress can have a significant impact on both our mental and physical health. In terms of combating stress, we now have much more awareness of the psychological and mindful ways in which we can help ourselves and others.

As a body-worker, Jane is interested in the body's physical system, both how it is affected by stress and how we can use its innate intelligence to help reduce stress symptoms, so in this talk, she'll explore the physiology of stress and the mind body feedback loop.

Sharing simple ways in which we can use our physical body to interrupt the stress cycle and make real change to both our physical and mental health, you'll learn how you can use your physiology to improve your psychology, and it's actually surprisingly simple!

Speaker bio:

Jane is an experienced Senior Physiotherapist and Somatic Therapist. She specialises in musculoskeletal injury rehabilitation, stress and trauma management and treatment of complex patterns of pain and dysfunction. She has worked in the NHS, professional rugby and private practice.

Jane set up Quanta Health in order to offer a comprehensive service to clients where all aspects of the mind body complex are considered. She creates bespoke treatments for clients using a blend of various techniques including Physiotherapy, Somatic Experiencing (using the body to resolve trauma) and Be Activated (performance enhancing system). Her particular interest is the stress response and the impact of this on both our physical and mental health.
